Dimerix (ASX:DXB) said the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) granted a key composition of matter patent covering its drug candidate, DMX-652, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
The patent grant "N-cyanopyrrolidines with activity as USP30 inhibitors" was issued under patent number 438406 and provides composition of matter protection for DMX-652 until June 3, 2041.
The company's planned phase 2 study of DMX-652 in cardiac surgery-associated acute kidney injury will investigate the candidate's potential to prevent kidney injury and preserve renal function.
