Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google and Japanese automation company Fanuc collaborated on an automated welding system backed by artificial intelligence and is slated for release in December, Nikkei Asia reported Thursday.

The system uses AI-backed robots that leverage Google's Gemini Enterprise AI platform, allowing the robots to work from actual blueprints, according to the report. The system will be offered by subscription, Nikkei said, noting that pricing details are not yet announced.

Google and Fanuc did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
