Gryphon Capital Income Trust (ASX:GCI) owner Barings launched an AU$86.3 million cash call for the investment trust late Monday, offering 43.1 million units at AU$2 each, the Australian Financial Review's Street Talk column reported the same day, citing a confidential term sheet.

The proceeds from the capital raise have been earmarked for a range of eligible investments, with the aim of boosting Gryphon Capital's exposure to the Australian mortgage market, according to the report.

Barings declined to comment on the matter in response to a query from MT Newswires.
