The Korean won strengthened by 1% against the US dollar, driven by a sharp advance in the Kospi index and significant foreign capital inflows into Seoul's equity market.
The USD/KRW pair briefly declined 1% to 1337.70, marking its lowest level since October 2024. Meanwhile, the Kospi jumped 3.3% during the session.
Overseas investors purchased 597.3 billion won worth of Kospi-listed shares on Monday, underpinning both the currency's gains and the broader market momentum.
