Can someone with zero programming background build a functional AI tool? The Party and Mass Service Station at Xuhui District's New Talent Community has proven it's possible. Recently, with the conclusion of a showcase event, the two sessions of the "AI Builder Lab 路 5-Week AI Co-Creation Project" offline bootcamp, jointly organized by the station and AI Salon host Wendy, came to a successful close. Young community members with no prior coding experience used no-code AI Agent platforms to build their own operational, demonstrable, and testable AI tools, transforming AI technology into powerful assistants for solving real-world problems.
The bootcamp discarded pure theory lectures in favor of a hands-on, project-based collaborative approach. Each five-week offline workshop formed a complete closed loop: participants started with their genuine workplace pain points and daily life frustrations, mapped out requirements, designed functional frameworks, independently built initial prototypes on the no-code platform, iterated and refined them through debugging during the course, and finally presented their results. The participation threshold was extremely low—all that was needed was a basic laptop to easily embark on this AI creation journey.
From professional to personal applications, participants delivered tangible results in reducing their workload. A legal professional built a case review system that automatically consolidates electronic evidence, searches precedents, and generates standardized litigation documents. An e-commerce worker created a beauty product monitoring tool that tracks new items, prices, and promotional activity, generating multi-platform marketing copy with a single click. Other tools included a financial consulting reporting assistant, a film production expense management system, and an internet data statistics dashboard—all helping people break free from monotonous, repetitive office tasks. On the lifestyle side, a parent developed a children's learning companion assistant that creates customized study plans. A travel enthusiast built a personalized itinerary tool that intelligently plans routes and delivers real-time destination updates. Another participant created a "life switch" that toggles between commute, home, and leisure modes at the press of a button, adding a layer of ease to daily management.
Across both AI bootcamp sessions, the feedback far exceeded expectations. Most young residents noted that their daily encounters with AI had previously been fragmented tips and tricks, but here, for the first time, their ideas went through the entire journey from concept to implementation. Moving forward, the Party and Mass Service Station at Xuhui District's New Talent Community will consolidate the training experience from the first two sessions, iterate and upgrade its approach, and continue launching practical AI series. The goal is to build an inclusive digital practice platform for young community members, bringing the power of AI to even more young professionals and residents in their work and everyday lives.
