Spot Market Alert: Corn Fiber Soars 4.67% in a Single Day as Stronger Corn Prices and Feed Sector Restocking Fuel the Rally

According to data from iFinD, the spot price of corn fiber reached 1,120.00 yuan per tonne on September 9, jumping 4.67% in a single day. Over the past week, the commodity has climbed 6.67%, while its one-month gain stands at 1.82%. The latest price update, recorded on 2026-09-09, highlights renewed momentum in the agricultural processing complex.

Corn fiber, a by-product of corn processing, sits in the midstream of the corn supply chain. The sharp uptick on September 9 was driven primarily by stronger raw corn prices, which bolstered cost-side support. At the same time, a phased recovery in market demand, coupled with restocking activity among downstream feed producers, pushed spot quotations higher.

Where the cost support comes from

Analysts at Caitong Securities point out that global corn supply-demand dynamics are tightening further. While China's domestic balance is expected to ease marginally, the country still faces a production shortfall relative to consumption, leaving room for continued support on the cost front for corn fiber.

Global inventory projections point to a tighter market

The USDA's August supply-demand report revealed upward revisions to both global corn production and consumption forecasts. However, export restrictions from Ukraine have lifted expectations for U.S. corn replacement demand, dragging the global ending-stocks-to-use ratio down to 17.9% on a sequential basis. Year on year, global corn output is projected to decline by 31 million tonnes, with the stocks-to-use ratio easing from 19.3% to 17.9%, underscoring a persistently tightening supply picture.

Domestically, China's new-season corn crop is developing well, with output expected to rise to 306 million tonnes. The production-consumption gap is narrowing to 5.65 million tonnes, pointing to a marginally looser balance—though the country still relies on imports to meet demand.

Stocks linked to the corn fiber rally

Shares tied to the commodity have responded positively. Huakang Pharmaceutical Co Ltd advanced 9.98% to 13.78 yuan, COFCO Biotechnology Co Ltd gained 9.95% to 6.41 yuan, and Yasheng Group rose 8.14% to 5.71 yuan. Baolingbao Biology Co Ltd added 5.62% to 9.77 yuan, while China National Agricultural Development Group Co Ltd climbed 5.15% to 8.37 yuan.

It is important to note that a rise in commodity prices does not automatically translate into gains for related stocks. Share performance is also influenced by company earnings, policy shifts, and overall market sentiment.
