The final round of the "Commercial AI Smart Sorting and Warehousing Operations" competition, part of the sixth "Haidian Craftsman Cup" Workers' Skills Contest, kicked off at the Shuangyushu store of Chaoshifa on September 14. This event moved beyond a simple race for sorting speed, placing manual sorting and AI robot operations side-by-side in the same arena, testing workers' fundamental skills in identifying expired beverages and damaged packaging while simultaneously familiarizing frontline staff with intelligent equipment. The contest also aims to unearth outstanding practitioners and create grassroots position role models, nurturing versatile frontline talent capable of human-machine collaborative operations for physical supermarkets.

Upon entering the competition area on the first floor of the Chaoshifa Shuangyushu store, the supermarket shelves had been transformed into a competitive arena. Neatly arranged shelves displayed a wide range of daily necessities, food, and general merchandise. During the competition, contestants armed with task sheets swiftly navigated the aisles, meticulously searching for, sorting, and verifying each item. "This practical assessment is based on real store operational scenarios and includes 20 products across 15 categories, with deliberately placed problematic items such as damaged packaging and expired goods," said Zhao Linsong, President of the Haidian District Commercial Federation. "While sorting quickly, contestants must carefully discern and accurately remove defective products to avoid customer losses and diminished consumer experiences caused by incorrect or missed picks." Through this competition, the goal is to identify outstanding grassroots workers in the supermarket service industry and focus on cultivating skilled role models. Award-winning participants will serve as team "small instructors," passing on their knowledge to help all staff refine traditional operational skills and master intelligent equipment operation.

On the other side of the arena, the "Guru Robot" X7 simultaneously carried out intelligent sorting tasks. The vivid scene of manual precision checks running alongside smooth robotic operation offered a direct glimpse into the new human-machine collaborative model transforming the retail industry, allowing frontline contestants to familiarize themselves with the operational logic and applications of smart devices. Zhao Linsong noted that this simultaneous human-robot practical demonstration is a rare innovation in domestic commercial service skills competitions. The event aims to break down the barriers between traditional positions and intelligent technology, helping frontline employees master new smart sorting technologies and equipment. It seeks to drive a two-way empowerment of traditional sorting skills and digital capabilities, adapting to the industry's transformation needs. The competition is hosted by the Haidian District Federation of Trade Unions and the Haidian District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, guided by the Haidian District Commerce Bureau, and organized by the Haidian District Commercial Federation. On September 15, a "Commercial AI Intelligent Equipment Operations and Marketing Services" competition will follow. New to this contest is an additional scoring component for AI-assisted creation, blending traditional culture and consumer hotspots with commercial marketing to encourage creative poster design and boost innovation among commercial service professionals.
