Q Tech (01478) has released its principal product sales volume figures for August 2026, covering the group and its joint venture company Kunshan Q Tech Microelectronics (India) Private Limited (India Q Tech).

According to the data, handset product sales volume reached 51.152 million units, representing a month-on-month increase of 9.8% but a year-on-year decline of 21.3%. Within this segment, camera module sales volume came in at 37.846 million units, up 5.3% from the previous month while down 14.9% year-on-year. Biometric identification module sales volume totalled 13.306 million units, reflecting a 25.0% sequential growth but a 35.3% drop compared with the same period last year.

Meanwhile, automotive product sales volume stood at 890,000 units, marking a 7.4% month-on-month increase and a 33.0% year-on-year rise. IoT product sales volume reached 2.37 million units, climbing 30.4% from the prior month and 20.7% from the prior-year period.

The year-on-year reduction in handset product sales volume is primarily attributed to weak demand in the smartphone market, which has been adversely affected by rising memory chip prices. In contrast, both automotive and IoT product sales posted simultaneous month-on-month and year-on-year growth. This uptick is chiefly driven by a notable surge in sales of the group's LiDAR products used in intelligent vehicles and embodied robotics applications, alongside solid sales performance for products deployed in handheld imaging devices.
