Xiaomi held its strategic cooperation launch event for the new Dragon Armor battery on the afternoon of September 4th. During the event, Li Xiaoshuang, Vice President of Xiaomi's automotive division, detailed the battery's enhanced performance and safety features.

According to Li, the Dragon Armor battery's cell cycle life significantly surpasses national standards. The company has meticulously selected the positive and negative electrode materials, electrolyte, and separator, while optimizing the core cell design and manufacturing processes. This results in lower degradation over extended use and improved safety.

In terms of thermal safety, the Dragon Armor battery achieves no thermal runaway or heat propagation even when fully charged and exposed to high temperatures of 55 degrees Celsius. This performance exceeds the requirements set by national testing standards.

However, the battery's advantages extend beyond thermal management. On the electrical safety front, the Dragon Armor battery is equipped with a millisecond-level mechanical switch, multiple layers of redundant insulation protection, and an electrical safety distance margin that far exceeds national specifications. For data security, the battery employs a monitoring system that collects data at ten times the national standard frequency and three times the standard volume, enabling 24-hour vehicle-cloud coordinated safety alerts and round-the-clock cloud-based AI proactive inspections.

Li further emphasized that the Dragon Armor battery achieves the industry's highest functional safety level, ASIL-D. It utilizes Xiaomi's self-developed BMS battery management software and multi-level hardware and software protection strategies, delivering millisecond-level safety fault response capabilities to ensure robust protection in all scenarios.
