Wanghai Street authorities confirmed today that the initial phase of Zhejiang Haiyan Electronic Cable Co., Ltd.'s CNY 200 million technical upgrade project—designed to produce 150,000 kilometers of industrial robot companion cables annually—has reached near-completion. Once fully operational, the new facilities are expected to contribute an additional CNY 300 million in yearly output value.

A recent site visit to the project location on the north side of Donghai Avenue in Wanghai Street revealed that several pieces of new machinery have already been installed within the factory premises. Covering a total area of 42 mu, the development comprises four individual factory buildings.

The first plant is a four-story structure with roughly 7,000 square meters of floor space per level. The ground and first floors are dedicated to manufacturing industrial robot companion cables, with equipment commissioning slated to begin in early October, followed by trial production runs. A separate four-story dormitory and canteen complex, featuring 90 single-occupancy rooms fully equipped with air conditioning and bathroom facilities, has also been constructed as part of the project.

Founded in 1993, Zhejiang Haiyan Electronic Cable Co., Ltd. has traditionally specialized in digital subscriber coaxial cables, RF symmetric communication cables, local area network cables, and medium-to-low voltage control cables. In 2024, the company embarked on the development of industrial robot companion cables, marking a decisive pivot away from its legacy product lines.

As smart manufacturing accelerates globally, the industrial robot market continues its rapid expansion, fueling exceptionally strong demand for companion cables, a company spokesperson noted. The firm has now successfully transitioned from conventional telecommunications cable production into the high-growth industrial robotics segment. Once the new facilities come online for full-scale manufacturing, output will be primarily directed toward European and American markets.

During the first half of this year, the company generated around CNY 200 million in output value, with full-year projections expected to surpass CNY 400 million. Unlike many competitors in the sector, Zhejiang Haiyan Electronic Cable Co., Ltd. goes beyond producing finished cables—it also manufactures its own sheathing and insulation compounds. This vertically integrated approach gives the company strict control over raw material quality, ensuring that every cable begins with premium-grade inputs. The company's in-house developed materials include high flame-retardant compounds compliant with UL cable standards, as well as drag-chain cable materials meeting Australian specifications, engineered for applications requiring temperature resistance, oil resistance, aging resistance, flame retardancy, low smoke emission, and non-toxicity.

Stringent quality assurance underpins the company's success in overseas markets. Many incoming orders arrive via referrals from existing international clients—a testament to their satisfaction with both product quality and service. Every workshop in the original plant houses its own quality inspection room; production batches must pass internal checks before being forwarded to a centralized inspection facility for final verification. Additional testing covers conductor DC resistance, tensile strength, flexural endurance, thermal aging, and combustion performance, guaranteeing rigorous quality control at every manufacturing stage.

With the new project's commissioning, Zhejiang Haiyan Electronic Cable Co., Ltd. is set to further amplify its industrial cable production capacity, strengthening Haiyan's reputation as a leading regional exporter of locally manufactured cable products.
