Trump Envoy Witkoff Reports $107 Million Income From Crypto-Linked Holding Company

President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, reported $107 million in income from a holding company in 2025, according to a recent financial disclosure filing. The holding company holds shares in a cryptocurrency venture co-founded by Witkoff, Trump, and others. Witkoff, who plays a key role in negotiations over the Ukraine and Middle East conflicts, did not disclose the value or earnings of the underlying assets held by the holding company. The filing did not specify how much he earned from World Liberty Financial LLC, a firm that issues stablecoins and has previously sold another type of token.

In earlier disclosures, Witkoff listed assets he held before joining the government, noting that the same holding company generated $34 million in revenue in 2024. That entity also includes resort, golf, and hotel management operations, as well as residential real estate. Critics argue that Witkoff's holdings constitute a conflict of interest. They point, for example, to Abu Dhabi investment firm MGX using World Liberty Financial's stablecoin to fund a $2 billion investment in the digital asset exchange Binance.

David Warrington, who stepped down as White House counsel this month, told Bloomberg News in May that Witkoff had sold his interest in World Liberty Financial and that he does not participate in official matters that could affect his financial interests. Trump previously disclosed earning more than $594 million from World Liberty Financial in 2025. The firm's co-founders also include Trump's sons, Witkoff's son, and other business partners. In its promotional materials, World Liberty Financial refers to Trump and Witkoff as "honorary co-founders," noting that both stepped away from the project after taking public office.
