Prudential plc lifts share buyback limit to USD 1.472 billion

On Sep, 2 2026, Prudential plc (PRU) said it has increased the maximum size of its ongoing share buyback programme to USD 1.472 billion from USD 1.2 billion, excluding related fees, expenses and stamp duty.
The higher cap, agreed with J.P. Morgan Securities, now equates to about 4% of the insurer’s issued share capital based on the closing share price on Sep, 1 2026. The repurchase plan, which began on Jan, 6 2026, is still scheduled to run until no later than Dec, 18 2026, though the company cautioned there is no assurance it will be completed in full.
