Samsung SDS, the information technology services arm of South Korea's Samsung Group, announced on Tuesday its plans to broaden collaboration with leading global artificial intelligence companies, including OpenAI and Anthropic, to drive innovation through AI-driven transformation.

The announcement was made during the company's annual summit, where it unveiled a new corporate vision called "AX," which is designed to accelerate AI transformation at both the enterprise and workflow levels.

Samsung SDS highlighted that it will become the first South Korean company to join OpenAI's "Daybreak Partner Program" pilot initiative. OpenAI's Daybreak is a cybersecurity project aimed at integrating advanced AI models into secure workflows from the early stages of software development.

Additionally, in July, Samsung SDS established a strategic partnership with San Francisco-based Anthropic, marking the first such collaboration by a South Korean firm. The two companies will work together to uncover new AX business opportunities by combining their technological capabilities and industry expertise.

"AX is not merely about reducing time and costs—it’s about fundamentally redesigning how businesses and work operate from the ground up," said Lee Joon-hee, CEO of Samsung SDS, in his opening remarks. "AI changes the way we work, while AX transforms the entire business model."

Samsung SDS is currently pursuing a "Customer Zero" strategy, where AX solutions are first applied and validated within its own operations before being rolled out to clients. The company is gradually building AX capabilities across seven key internal processes, including research and development, procurement, and quality management, and will subsequently apply these outcomes to customer operations.
